On Tuesday, July 15, at 4:30 PM, the press conference for the 33rd “Scopigno Cup – World Football Tournament” will be held at the European Parliament in Rome. This year’s event is reserved for the Allievi (’09) category, and will take place from August 19th to 22nd in Rieti, Rome, Naples, Amatrice, Cittareale, and Poggio Bustone.

Scopigno Cup patron Fabrizio Formichetti will host the event. He will be joined by leading figures from the worlds of national politics and sport, including the Honorable Gianni Letta, Honorary President of the ASD Scopigno Cup, as well as national political and sports representatives. The event is now considered one of the most coveted and prestigious in the youth football scene, both nationally and internationally.

During the press conference, the organizers will reveal the names of the 12 participating clubs, the composition of the four preliminary groups, and the match dates.

The highlight of the press conference will be the announcement of the winners of the 2025 Manlio Scopigno Awards, which will be presented on October 20th at 11:00 a.m. in the Press Room of the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. The awards celebrate the elite of national and international football with recognition for players, coaches, presidents, and managers from Serie A, Serie B, and—as of this year—Serie C who distinguished themselves in the 2024/25 season.

This year, too, the opening match and the final will be broadcast live on RaiSport and Rai 2, highlighting, if need be, how the prestige and importance of the event are attractive communication features.

Among the various synergies that have supported the Scopigno Cup for years, the partnership with Intesa Sanpaolo, Italy’s leading banking group, has been renewed. This partnership confirms its commitment to the world of sports, as Roberto Gabrielli, Regional Director for Lazio and Abruzzo, Banca dei Territori Division, Intesa Sanpaolo, explains:

“Intesa Sanpaolo has supported the Scopigno Cup for several years now, which has become one of the region’s most popular sporting events. It is passionately committed to promoting and disseminating the values of sport. Sport embodies important and universally recognized values and offers a significant contribution to promoting peace, tolerance and respect, education, and social inclusion. These are values that, as the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, we share and promote in our many initiatives supporting the communities in which we operate.”
