The A.S.D. Scopigno Cup Rieti, announces that at the Auditorium of the FIGC Federal Technical Center, live on RAI, the 12th edition of the Hall Of Fame Awards of Italian Football was held, assigned by a jury of journalists chaired by President Matteo Marani, President of the Football Museum.
The Hall of Fame of Italian Football was established by the Foundation of the Football Museum and FIGC to enhance the heritage, history, culture and values of Italian Football. Among the winners proposed by the ASD Scopigno Cup, there was also our MANLIO SCOPIGNO, who thus officially entered the History of Italian Football.
The President of the ASD Scopigno Cup FABRIZIO FORMICHETTI and SOUHAILA MIA, Godmother of the Scopigno Cup and of the Manlio Scopigno and Felice Pulici Awards, as well as Matteo Scopigno and Tommaso Scopigno, Manlio’s nephews, collected the coveted award.
We were very pleased with this coveted recognition for MANLIO SCOPIGNO from Reatino, we sincerely thank the President of the Fondazione Museo del Calcio Italiano Matteo Marani and the entire jury made up of illustrious journalists and personalities from the world of football, as well as thanks to the President of the FIGC Dr. Gravina.
A well-deserved award that honors the career of the Philosopher coach, winner in the 1969/1970 competitive season with Cagliari Calcio of the Scudetto, which then also earned him the Sower of Gold; an innovator who, thanks to his brilliant technical and tactical intuitions, including the invention of the fluidifying full-back with Savoini at Vicenza, as well as the introduction for the first time of the Psychologist and the Athletic Trainer in football, was thus able to innovate and revolutionize Italian football in the 60s and 70s.
It should be remembered that Scopigno’s Cagliari still holds the European record together with Xavi’s Barcelona and the Italian record for the team that has conceded the fewest goals in a Championship (only 11 goals conceded).
It was very nice to participate – says the actress and model Souhaila Mia – as Godmother of the Scopigno Cup and the Scopigno and Pulici Awards at this ceremony that saw the participation of illustrious figures from the World of Football in memory of Coach Manlio Scopigno, the coach who comes every year every year from the Asd Scopigno Cup thanks to his prestigious events.
