On Monday, October 20th, at 11:00 a.m., the “Manlio Scopigno” and “Felice Pulici” awards ceremony will be held in the Conference Room of Rome’s Stadio Olimpico, concluding the 33rd edition of the Scopigno Cup, won on the pitch by Atalanta U17 on August 22nd.

From this year onward, the awards, presented by a prestigious jury chaired by Dr. Gianni Letta, will not only be presented nationally to the presidents, managers, and coaches of the men’s and women’s Serie A, Serie B, and Serie C soccer teams. For the first time in the history of the Scopigno Cup, which has spanned more than thirty years, the awards will extend beyond Italy, extending the scope of the competition to international recognition, identifying the best Italian coach currently active abroad.

The awards will be presented by the President of the ASD Scopigno Cup, FABRIZIO FORMICHETTI, the Honorary President of the ASD Scopigno Cup, Dr. GIANNI LETTA, the Vice President of the ASD Scopigno Cup, GABRIELE PULICI, son of the late Felice Pulici, the Lazio goalkeeper who won the first Scudetto in the history of the Biancoceleste team in 1973/1974, the Patroness and Artistic Director of the events, SOUHAILA MIA, the National Authorities, as well as representatives of the Scopigno Cup sponsors (CRAI – INTESA SANPAOLO – RITEC Srl – POSTE ITALIANE – TOTO COSTRUZIONI – FONDAZIONE VARRONE – BARILLA – MASSIGEN – UMBRO – DMT Srl, etc.) and of the Manlio Scopigno and Felice Pulici Awards, which, every year, support the ASD Scopigno Cup events, representing the driving force behind them.

The coveted Manlio Scopigno Journalism Awards will also be presented during the event, including Lifetime Achievement, TV, Press, Technical Commentary, Pitchside, Radio Section, Press Section, etc.

Finally, on November 20th, at the initiative of the ASD Scopigno Cup and President Fabrizio Formichetti, on the occasion of the centennial of the birth of Manlio Scopigno, in the presence of Daniele Sinibaldi, Mayor of Rieti, Marco Clama, Mayor of Paularo (Manlio Scopigno’s birthplace), and Elisabetta Occhiodoro, President of the Rieti Twinning Commission, a friendship pact will be signed between the two municipalities to strengthen the bond between the Sabine capital and the coach who won a historic Scudetto in 1970 as coach of Gigi Riva’s Cagliari.
